5th May 2026, marked a significant milestone in our collective effort to advance development within the municipality, as the Hon MCE has the honour of joining the Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, to commission a number of DACF-funded projects.

This occasion brought together a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including the Krontihene of the Akyem Kotoku Traditional Area, Nana Dr. Gyamfi Saforo Kyere, the Zongo Chief, the Catholic Head (Roman Father) of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, the Municipal Director of Education, the Municipal Director of Health, the Medical Superintendent, the Presiding Member, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Heads of Institutions, Assembly Members, Assembly Staff, Heads of Schools, Constituency Executives of National Democratic Congress (NDC), Students, our dedicated youth and other key partners whose presence underscored the importance of the event.

programme reflects our unwavering commitment to improving access to quality education and healthcare, while also strengthening infrastructure across the municipality. Within just one year in office, we have been able to initiate and complete critical projects that directly impact the lives of our people.

The projects commissioned are as follows:

A 3-unit classroom block at Frempong Manso R/C JHS - Akim Oda

A Health Centre at Community Six (6) - Akim Oda

An Operating Theatre attached to the Maternity Ward at Oda Government Hospital

An L-shaped Kindergarten (KG) block at SDA School

In MCE's remarks, he expressed his deepest appreciation to H.E. John Dramani Mahama for his vision and leadership, as well as to the hardworking Regional Minister for her continuous support.

He also acknowledged the invaluable role of Nananom for their guidance and commended all contractors and stakeholders for their dedication and professionalism in ensuring the successful execution of these projects.

He remain committed to working collaboratively with all stakeholders to drive sustainable development, improve livelihoods and build a stronger, more resilient municipality for all.
